Vietnam 3 - Da Nang

Flew to Da Nang, it was very rainy when we got there.

We stopped at a marble statue manufacturer on our way to the Marble Mountains.

The Marble Mountains are a cluster of 5 mountains named after 5 elements; metal, water, wood, fire, and earth. The mountains are made of marble and limestone, the area is largely known for stone cutting and sculpture making. They used to use the mountains for their stone but they can no longer extract extract stone from the mountains, so they import marble to make statues to sell.

Ladies polishing marble.

Marble sculptures.

Dragons carved on the side of one of the mountains.

On the way up the mountain, it was rainy, and the steps were uneven and slippery.

One of the many buddhist shines on one of the mountains.

On the mountain are quite a few caves that have been carved into Buddhist or Hindu shrines.

A view from the top.

Dinner in Da Nang, that fish is a snakehead.
