day 26: driveway
since i was a little kid, i've always drawn pictures of my perfect home having a tree lined driveway. i been able to live that dream for the past few years.
day 25: craft room
it isn't a secret that i love crafting, so having a space for craft supplies and to be creative has been excellent. my girls pretty much have free access to everything and i think it's helped their love of crafting as well. the room never really stayed tidy, but i figure that is a sign it was being used. the craft room was also our playroom.
the usual messy state...
24. patio
happy national margarita day!
behind the house is a very large brick patio. there's a nice big tree that provides shade in the summer. the patio has been great for grilling, playing, entertaining, s'mores, movies, and don't forget, to enjoy margaritas!
Margaritas
Recipe for one batch, found on Meg Duerksen's blog, also known as "Meg-arita's":
1 can frozen limeade
tequila
triple sec
1 beer (I used blue moon)
Pour the limeade into the blender. Use the empty limeade can as your measuring cup.
Fill it 2/3 full of tequila, then 1/3 full of the triple sec.
Pour it in the blender. Fill your blender with ice. Blend until it is the right consistency.
After that is done, THEN you add one bottle of beer. Mix with a spoon. If desired, salt the rim of your glass and add a lime slice.
(DO NOT USE THE BLENDER after the beer is poured in. You will have margaritas all over the place.)
day 23: details
it's all in the details; doors, door knobs, door knockers, window seats, pillars, old mossy steps, 14ft pine flooring, all these things help give this house charm and character.
